Getting started
- Log your paycheck. Choose Income in Quick Entry. It lands on your Pad.
- Make a few Stashes. Tap New Stash: Rent, Groceries, Fun Money, a Rainy-Day Stash.
- Stash it. Drag your Pad onto a Stash and enter how much to move. Repeat until your Pad is clear.
- Log as you spend. Tap a Stash, then add the purchase in Quick Entry, or say "Log a Stashpad transaction" to Siri.
Settings → Envelope Budgeting Guide walks through three example budgets and every Stashpad word.
Reminders aren't arriving
- Check Settings → Reminders: Nagginess isn't Off, and the time is right.
- If Stashpad shows "Notifications are off", tap it to turn them on in iOS Settings.
- With "Skip if I've already logged" on, you won't be reminded on a day you've already logged something. That's on purpose.
Moving money with VoiceOver
Every drag has a non-drag equivalent. On a Stash, use the actions rotor and choose "Stash Money from Your Pad".
Pro and purchases
- Restore Purchases is in Settings → Stashpad Pro.
- iCloud sync starts after you relaunch Stashpad following a purchase.
- If Pro lapses, nothing is deleted. Pro-only views and automation pause until Pro is active again.
Importing from your bank
Export a CSV from your bank's website and import it from the ledger's import button. You map the columns once. Pro adds OFX/QFX and Ledger/hledger files.
Sending entries from MomBooks
In MomBooks, open a transaction and choose Send to Stashpad…, then pick Stashpad in the share sheet. Stashpad shows the entry for you to check before importing, and sending the same entry twice adds it once. Entries in another currency, voided entries and anything that might contain health information stay in MomBooks.
Other apps can send Stashpad entries too: it's a small JSON file with the .stashpadhandoff extension. Write to support@gxsanchez.com for the format.
The Pad Coach
Tap the speech-bubble button on your Stash Board. The "At a glance" list works on every device. Asking questions needs Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Coach answers can be wrong; the numbers under At a glance are exact.
